After being inspired by some friends... I think it's time that the D-town Eggers have their own blog (especially now that we have our new addition to the family).
A little about us... Nate is a medical student, and I (Kristen) am just now finishing a dietetic internship (so, hopefully by this fall I will be a "registered dietitian" or "RD"). In March we welcomed our daughter - Aoife Ruby - into the world, and are enjoying the adventure of raising her! We also have a dog named Lojack who has been a great companion to all of us, and is growing up to be quite a fine dog. :-)
Now to the meat of what our lives are about...We are living in Detroit and are living with intention. What does that mean - "living with intention"? Well, it means that we are living in Detroit with the purpose of community, development, and - most importantly - to bring glory, honor, and attention to God, by the power of the Holy Spirit. How are we doing this? By being active members of the Body of Christ (locally, the church body we are part of is Mack Avenue Community Church), by loving our neighbors with words and actions, and by serving our community in a way that we hope other members of the community will see and recognize that our motive is to honor God, and that they would know Him as Savior and King.
